NCI’s OcuTest EXtended Ver. 14.0M with Rabin Cone Contrast test is the ONLY currently available version of the Rabin Cone Contrast test approved by the United States Air Force for “flying class” color vision exams!

In 2009-2010, NCI developed the original commercial version (12.1C) which was delivered to nearly every USAF base in the world. Over the years, a number of potential improvements were identified which are now incorporated in the OcuTest Ver. 14.0M.

Research shows Cone Function loss is affected early in disease development including: AMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Optic Neuritis, high-risk medications such as Plaquenil and, macular pigment density loss.  Cone Contrast Sensitivity testing can detect the minute changes in color sensitivity before the patient reports vision problems.  Early detection and intervention can limit or prevent permanent vision loss.

Establish a baseline test and compare to future results to detect changes in cone function which may indicate onset of other issues!
